As an aesthetic pursuit or as an investment, art collecting is an adventure. Elements in Play and its founder, Karen Boyer, specialize in Post-War and contemporary art, collaborating with clients at all levels of experience to make exploring and collecting fine art as enjoyable and rewarding as possible.
Educating, inspiring, demystifying and guiding are all a part of the Elements in Play experience, and Karen’s approach is highly personal. She is eager to introduce novice collectors to the art world through private consultations and gallery tours, or to help those who are more experienced refine their collections, search more efficiently and care for their artworks meticulously.
As she educates clients about today’s art market, Karen encourages them to find works and styles they respond to. And as their tastes refine, she researches and explores their areas of interest to bring them together with art they love and can collect with confidence.
Karen’s lifelong love of art has given her an extensive and varied network of connections, from galleries and museums to artists and other collectors, offering clients increased access to top-quality and rare artworks worldwide. She stays at the forefront of her field through regular attendance at national and international art fairs, including major shows in New York, Miami, Los Angeles, Hong Kong, London, Paris and Basel, Switzerland. And her days involve regular conversations and interactions with galleries, auction houses and top art world professionals.
Karen has assisted clients in buying or selling works by promising emerging artists and by many well-known artists, including Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, Sol LeWitt, Takashi Murakami, Ghada Amer, Fred Tomaselli, Yayoi Kusama and Marilyn Minter.
